Our Story is a different and innovative travel company. Mr Gopal Pradhan, my father, began tourism in the isolated village of Zuluk in late 2005. The people of this region were dubbed “Kulli Dera” (labour house) by outsiders, as they had to do a lot of manual labour in BRO (Border Road Organization) and Indian Army, just to make ends meet. With his hard work and dedication, he has redefined hospitality in the tourism sector and now Zuluk is the most trending tourist destination in Sikkim. To carry forward this I’ve taken on responsibility in the exciting field of tourism with an enthusiastic team of locals and an expert guide, to continue on my father’s legacy and to put his humanitarian ideology into the limelight.

Silkroutebackpackers is a Zuluk based public service travel and  tourism company. We have come to meet your ends, our mission is to connect with the locals directly and financially and to erase the misconception of a travel company.
